Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village

We're creating the first sports and entertainment "smart city"

The Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village will be a premier sports and entertainment destination for millions of visitors in Canton, Ohio. The nearly $899 million “smart city” will provide world-class fan experiences enabled by state-of-the-art technology products and services, and will serve as a showcase for our technologies and solutions. The Village will be a mixed-use sports and entertainment district, a smart city driven by advanced data and analytics, connectivity and efficiency achieved through infrastructure integration.

Ten major components will touch an array of industries, like hospitality, healthcare, municipalities, retail and education, all integrated through technology to subtlety and seamlessly share the values from the game with guests in a way that will impact their lives.

Inside the Village, we will demonstrate our world-class technology solutions for making cities smarter, safer, more secure and comfortable in this real world setting. Technologies will be connected within and across buildings creating systems that optimize building operations, reduce resource use, produce meaningful insights and increase productivity.

For both the Hall of Fame and Johnson Controls, this partnership aligns and honors the Hall of Fame’s mission, vision and values of honoring the past and building a future driven by innovation.

Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium

The first completed component of the Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village is Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. The stadium was recently recognized by Forbes as one of “13 Game-Changing NFL Stadiums.” This renovated stadium features a lower profile, a permanent stage embedded into its seating bowl, and a walkable connection to the museum.

We’ve enhanced fan experience while optimizing the environment through the products, systems and technologies that have been integrated at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium to make it smarter, safer, more secure, and connected.

And thanks to our Technology Contracting methodology for project delivery, we delivered this state-of-the-art stadium in less than 10 months.
