 Katie Rowen is Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Johnson Controls. She and her team lead the global legal and corporate affairs strategy and the privacy, governance, enterprise risk, litigation, compliance, government relations and sustainability agendas.

Her team provides counsel and advice on Johnson Controls’ most consequential strategic and commercial decisions, prioritizes and manages risk while advancing the business, and protects the ability to operate in every market Johnson Control serves. Accelerated by the business system, her team is building the most capable legal and corporate affairs function to help our teams deliver for customers.

Katie joined Johnson Controls in 2026 from Vontier Corporation, where she served as the Chief Legal Officer for six years and led a number of functions including Legal, Sustainability, Communications, Transformation and the Business System Office. Before that, she held senior legal, compliance and sustainability roles at Fortive and Raytheon. Prior to that she was a trial lawyer in private practice.

Katie holds a JD from Vermont Law School and a BA from Colby College, where she captained the women's soccer team.
