Johnson Controls has been named to the Financial Times Europe’s Climate Leaders list for the sixth consecutive year, reinforcing its leadership in driving decarbonisation and growth across the region.

“We’re incredibly proud to be recognized at a time when Europe’s digital and industrial sectors are under real pressure,” said Richard Lek, President, EMEA, Johnson Controls. “With data centre demand surging and the shift to low-carbon heat accelerating, we’re helping customers move faster with efficient, high-impact solutions."

Compiled by the Financial Times and Statista, the ranking recognizes companies achieving the strongest reductions in emissions intensity, supported by transparency and credible climate commitments.

Turning sustainability into growth

Johnson Controls’ continued inclusion reflects clear execution of its strategy: reducing its own emissions while scaling solutions that help customers do the same. The company has cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by nearly half since 2017 and remains ahead of its science-based targets.

Across Europe, this is translating into measurable customer value, lower energy costs, improved performance and reduced emissions supporting organizations as they modernize infrastructure and meet tightening regulations.

Scaling impact across Europe

Johnson Controls is delivering results across cities and critical infrastructure by combining electrification, digital optimization and advanced energy solutions.

Projects include large-scale heat pump deployment in Stuttgart, providing climate-neutral heat to around 10,000 households and avoiding 15,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually. Digital platforms like OpenBlue are optimizing building performance, while advanced cooling at New Aalborg University Hospital delivers up to 80% energy savings. In the UK, work with Hounslow Council has halved emissions across public buildings while reducing costs.

Delivering measurable value

These projects go beyond emissions reduction to lower operating costs, strengthen energy resilience, support compliance and free up capital repositioning buildings as strategic assets.

As Europe accelerates towards net zero, Johnson Controls continues to scale solutions that deliver both environmental progress and business growth, supported by investments such as the expansion of its Holme facility in Denmark to meet growing demand for heat pump technologies.
