Milan Cathedral Protects History with exacqVision
Italy’s Milan Cathedral had an aging CCTV analog security system in place, but wanted to install a more reliable system to protect the historical building, its visitors, and staff. They also wanted to begin moving to IP technology while also utilizing their existing infrastructure.
This case study describes the solution that was adopted. Three exacqVision LC-Series hybrid network video recorders (NVRs) allowed the cathedral to integrate new cameras with existing ones. The new cameras provide high-definition video and larger aspect ratios as well as covering more space. Video is accessed via exacqVision video management system software, allowing staff to easily monitor cameras or search recorded video.
