Johnson Controls shares the risks of acoustic noise on data center technology

In the event of a fire outbreak in data centers, fire suppression systems can produce sound levels that create vibrations within technology. These acoustics can be damaging to all equipment, specifically the hard disk drives (HDDs), the primary location of information storage in mission critical environments.

When acoustics are outputted, facilities face the possibility of losing sensitive data. For healthcare facilities specifically, this data includes health records, which could put the survival or the hospital and patient well-being at stake.

Derek Sandahl of Johnson Controls (pictured) shares the risks of acoustic noise and how to mitigate the risk and damage of sound and suppression for data centers in healthcare environments.
