Protecting your system should not be an afterthought – PROTECT IT!
By Steve Brukbacher
Cybersecurity is a complex and constantly evolving landscape. Given the critical role building automation systems play in the success of your business and the health and safety of building occupants, effectively managing cybersecurity risk is a critical consideration in your overall business risk management strategy.
Johnson Controls partners with your business to provide cyber resilient products from the start, solid guidance on secure deployment and rapid response when new concerns are identified.
In partnership with Johnson Controls, we recommend a four step approach to effectively managing cybersecurity risks to your building automation system.
Protecting your system should not be an afterthought or deferred activity – it should be top of mind in order to maintain business continuity. Protect IT!
- Deploy a secure product. Johnson Controls is leading the way in collaborating with key industry leadership to ensure that you are getting the most secure product possible.
- Keep products up to date. Cybersecurity is an ever evolving landscape and like all technology companies, we partner with you to maintain a secure environment by providing frequent product updates.
- Regularly reassess. Environments change over time. Set aside time on a regular basis to review things like network configurations, system access and update status to ensure you are maintaining your Johnson Controls products in an appropriately secure state.
- Include building technologies. Building automation technologies should be included in your overall cybersecurity program. Apply the same rigor and monitoring that you do for other mission critical systems and data.
By partnering with Johnson Controls, you are taking an important step in ensuring that cybersecurity risk will be well managed. Continue to protect this investment. Contact your Johnson Controls service representative to ensure you are running the most recent and cyber resilient products available.
Preparation is key. Protect IT.
