Water Mist Fire Suppression
Sometimes, less is more. Water mist fire suppression systems typically use less water than traditional sprinkler systems, which means less damage to high-value assets, from commercial and retail inventory to works of art in museums and libraries.
Water mist systems use specially designed nozzles that release water in tiny drops (generally less than one millimeter in volumetric diameter). These tiny droplets absorb enough heat to suppress fire and minimize collateral damage. Accordingly, water mist systems can be used as an optimum solution for nearly every class of fire and in many kinds of facilities and applications.
This white paper outlines mist technology, its applications, and surveys three AquaMist solutions developed by Johnson Controls.
